Former Congressman Jeff Denham endorses George Radanovich for Assembly

Another key endorsement for the leading Republican candidate

CLOVIS, CA - - Today, George Radanovich announced that his campaign for Assembly has received the endorsement of former Valley Republican Congressman Jeff Denham.


“George Radanovich is a forceful and effective voice for taxpayers, farmers, small business and everyone who wants common sense conservative representation in Sacramento," said Denham. “George’s experience and proven ability will enable him to hit the ground running and get things done from his very first day in office.”


Jeff Denham is the latest major endorsement for the Radanovich campaign. His name is added to a list of supporters that includes Congressman Tom McClintock, Congressman John Duarte, Former Congresswoman Connie Conway, Fresno County Supervisor Debbie Poochigian, the Fresno County Republican Party, Madera County Republican Party, Tuolumne County Republican Party, Calaveras County Republican Party, former Assemblyman Frank Bigelow, and rancher John Harris, to name a few.


George Radanovich is a native of a Mariposa County farm family and a former member of Congress representing Fresno County, Madera County, Mariposa County and Tuolumne County, all included in the 8th Assembly District. In 1982 George began growing grapes in Mariposa County and in 1986 he opened the Radanovich Winery, the first winery in the region. He was the first winemaker to serve in Congress since Thomas Jefferson.


In 1994 George ran for Congress, defeating entrenched Incumbent Democrat Richard Lehman by 17 points. Radanovich was elected President of the 74-member freshman class of Republicans. He was the top Republican vote-getter in the June 2022 primary in Senate District 4. He voluntarily retired from Congress in 2010. After leaving Congress, George served as Chairman of the Board of a small family business and in 2016 George became President of the California Fresh Fruit Association. He left that position in 2019.
